Michael J. Breus, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist, a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and a Fellow of The American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is one of only 168 psychologists in the world to have passed the Sleep Medical Speciality board without going to Medical School. He is on the clinical advisory board of The Dr. Oz Show and on the show, and was recently named as the Top Sleep Specialist in California by Reader’s Digest and one of the 10 most influential people in sleep.

Dr. Breus lectures all over the world and for over 14 years has served as the Sleep Expert for WebMD. Dr. Breus has been in private practice for 22 years and recently relocated his practice to Los Angeles. He is the author of The Power of When (2016), The Sleep Doctor’s Diet Plan: Lose Weight Through Better Sleep (2011) and GOOD NIGHT: The Sleep Doctor’s 4-WeekProgram to Better Sleep and Better Health. Dr. Breus also writes The Insomnia Blog and can be found regularly on Psychology Today and Sharecare.

Dr. Shelby Harris PsyD, CBSM

Clinical Sleep Psychologist, Board Certified in Sleep Medicine, Author

Shelby Harris is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Westchester, NY. She is board certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine and treats a wide variety of sleep, anxiety and depression issues using evidence-based, non-medication treatments. Her self-help book, The Women’s Guide to Overcoming Insomnia: Get a Good Night’s Sleep Without Relying on Medication was published by W.W. Norton books in 2019. Dr. Harris holds a dual academic appointment as Clinical Associate Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in both Neurology and Psychiatry. Before going into private practice, she was the longstanding director of the Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program at the Sleep-Wake Disorders Center at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Harris has been an invited columnist for the New York Times “Consults Blog,” and is frequently quoted in the media, including the New York Times, New Yorker, Huffington Post, and O Magazine. She has appeared on the Today Show, World News with Diane Sawyer and Good Morning America.

Dr. Richard M. Gall MD, FRCSC

Dr. Gall is a reviewer for the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery journal and is currently Section Head of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at St. Boniface Hospital, where he is a staff surgeon. He is in private practice as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Manitoba, has served on several Royal College committees and is a past Royal College examiner.

Dr. Gall graduated from the University of Manitoba medical school with his MD in 1994. During his medical school training, he also achieved a Bachelor of Science in Medicine degree with research at the Sleep Disorders Centre at St. Boniface Hospital under the guidance of world renowned sleep medicine physician, Dr. Meir Kryger. His research and publications revolved around the psychosocial aspects of mild obstructive sleep apnea. Upon graduating from the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Manitoba in 1999, Dr. Gall pursued further training, completing a fellowship in the field of Rhinology, Endoscopic Sinus Surgery and nasal physiology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.

Paul Landini RHEP

Paul is a personal trainer, health educator and fitness columnist. He specializes in making fitness fun and accessible to all, regardless of their age, gender or abilities. Thanks to his background in martial arts, Paul has an extensive knowledge of calisthenics and mobility exercises. This knowledge forms the basis of his training philosophy, which emphasizes the ability to move well first and foremost. Paul has been a long-time advocate for plant-based nutrition and loves nothing more than dispelling the many myths surrounding vegan and vegetarian diets.

Paul is a graduate from Humber College’s acclaimed Fitness and Health Promotion program. He holds personal training and group fitness certifications from the Ontario Fitness Council, the YMCA, and is also a Precision Nutrition – Level 1 Certified coach. Since 2016, he has been a regular fitness columnist with the Globe & Mail, Canada’s national newspaper. A native of Ajax, Ontario, Paul currently lives in Kitchener with his wife, Jo, and their senior pug Jean-Luc.

Jessica Penner RD

Registered Dietician

Jessica Penner is a Registered Dietician living in Winnipeg, Canada. She discovered her love for food and helping others while traveling abroad and decided to combine those two by studying nutrition.

Having graduated at the top of her faculty at the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Human Nutritional Sciences, Jessica went on to complete a Dietetic Internship through the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

Through a process that focuses on honouring, respecting, and trusting the body, she helps people stop overeating and gain confidence in their food choices.

Since 2014 she’s been posting everyday recipes, meal planning tips, and strategies to stop overeating at her blog Smart Nutrition. She is often quoted in the media, having been published in The Huffington Post, Shape, Reader’s Digest, Livestrong, NBC News, and Prevention magazine.
